Mondays With Matt: No words can describe the feeling

Depression affects more than 20 million people in the United States. I know depression doesn’t seem like it should be a Monday’s with Matt topic but I wanted to talk about something real this week. If you don’t know what depression is you’re lucky. There’s no words to describe the torturous feeling that’s locked inside you.
I have many close friends and family members that suffer from depression. The best way I could describe this feeling is by having you imagine yourself in a place filled with absolutely nothing. No noise. No feeling. All you have is yourself and darkness. You want to leave but there is no where to go and no one to help.
I’m telling you all of this because it’s real. It’s the truth. I am a strong believer that there is no light without the dark. Therefore, it is crucial for us to understand how people feel in order to help them over come this. This week I challenge you to reach out to someone who you may think is struggling. And, if your one of those people who may be struggling I challenge you to talk to a friend. If you don’t feel comfortable talking to them heck talk to me. No one should ever be alone in the dark.
I am currently taking this helping a step farther as I started a small non profit clothing brand called You Matter. All profits from your purchases will go to the Hope for Depression Research Foundation. I really want to help everyone out of their darkness because everyone truly deserves to live in the light. Please don’t be afraid to contact and talk to me. If you want to contribute to a cause feel free to follow on Instagram to receive the latest updates on designs and releases.
Have a wonderful Monday.
