The boys soccer team is looking as strong as ever, still undefeated in the Hock. Much of that is due to the commitment, hard work, and talent of the returning players. But another huge factor to take into account is the addition of Brandin Osborne. For those of you who don’t know him, he is a senior who transferred to OA this year. His old school was Coyle and Cassidy, a private school located in Taunton. However, he and his family decided it was time for a change and he has come to spend his last year as a high schooler with us.
Brandin is the offensive threat the team needed to further the team. His willingness and talent to play any offensive position allows the team to have a better strategy and gives them more depth than imaginable without him. With 6 goals and 3 assists, Brandin is taking a leadership role on offense and creating opportunities for himself as well as his teammates. Although for many it would be hard to know your role, Brandin believes the team has done a great job of taking him in and making him one of their own. “I haven’t played with these guys since middle school but I believe I’ve done a good job of fitting in again” he says. The sudden change also provided him with opportunities on the field that he did not have at his old high school. He remarked “my role [at Coyle Cassidy] was to be the one and only offensive threat. Now I play around a great group of guys who can all play the game at a high level.” Brandin has added to the already numerous amount of players that are skilled in all areas of the game. His presence on and off the field will certainly help OA come closer to another Hockomock championship, and a banner in the gym.
